In Children’s Ministry at Athens First UMC, it is our honor to celebrate significant milestones as children grow in their faith.
Baptism | Infants
Baptism is the first of several faith milestones in our church. A faith milestone is a significant moment of in the faith journey of a child.
Tell Me the Stories | 3 Years Old
Our 3-year-old “Tell Me the Stories of Jesus” Milestone is a sweet moment for some of our youngest disciples to begin to feed their excitement for God’s Word and stories from the Bible.
Moving Up | Kindergarten
We are excited for our Kindergarten age children to move up to the 3rd floor on Promotion Sunday each year.
Holy Communion | 2nd Grade
Children in Grade 2 are invited to participate in the Holy Communion Milestone where they will learn about the elements of Holy Communion and its importance in their faith journey.
Bibles | 3rd Grade
The Bible Milestone is when children receive their very own Bible from their church family. This special Sunday is held each year in the Fall.

Student Sunday School
Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for fellowship and lessons on our faith.
