"Scattered, Covered, and Smothered”

June 18, 2023 | Rev. Jeremy Lawson
Passage: Matthew 13:1-23

According to Matthew, one day Jesus was sitting by the lakeside when a large crowd gathered and he began to teach them from a boat that was anchored just offshore. But his lesson that day wasn’t exactly straightforward. In fact, after hearing a parable about a farmer who planted seeds by recklessly scattering them about, even the disciples didn’t understand what Jesus was trying to say. We’ll look at how this seemingly cryptic parable has profound implications for us if we’re willing to dig beneath the surface and uncover its hidden meaning.
