Route 56

← Return to Route 56

Our Connections program will meet on Sunday evenings from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. beginning on Sunday, August 15. Each week we begin our time together with games, activities, and small group discussions with our Route 56 leaders. Students will also enjoy fellowship and food from the Snack Shack!

During the second half of this program we use our voices and instruments to worship God in new and creative ways with Ms. Janis. There are several opportunities throughout the year for our students to lead worship in our sanctuary, in our community, and beyond with our Spring Music Trip. Our college shepherds from UGA will join us each week too!

Route 56 Music Opportunities for Fall!

Sunday, October 17 | sing in worship
Sunday, November 21 | Music and Mission Trip
Sunday, December 5 | sing in worship
Christmas Eve | sing in 6:00 p.m. service

Preparation for music opportunities happens during Connections each Sunday night. We do a lot of drumming, bucket drumming, and instrument exploration, in addition to some traditional singing.

When invited to lead worship, we prepare songs that enhance the service. For the Music and Mission trip, we will learn music to sing for our friends at Iris Place, and also equip students to interact appropriately with these sweet senior adults. We usually make a small keepsake to give each resident. During the Christmas Eve service, we get to sing and lead worship alongside the Wesleyan Youth Choir.

We have so much fun just making music together and we hope you all will participate!
