Christmas Eve at Athens First
Tuesday, December 24 – Four Candlelight Services
The waiting is almost over. On Christmas Eve, we'll gather by candlelight to celebrate the moment that changed everything—the night a baby's cry announced that God had come to dwell among us.
We're excited to offer four opportunities to worship together, each featuring candlelight worship as we celebrate the birth of Christ:
3:00 p.m. – Children's Christmas Pageant
There's truly nothing like seeing kids bring the nativity story to life—complete with angel wings, shepherds, and maybe a little creative improvisation! This joyful service is perfect for families with young children.
5:00 p.m. – Wesleyan Youth Choir and Brass Ensemble
Join us for a beautiful time of Scripture readings and carols led by our Wesleyan Youth Choir and Brass Ensemble.
7:00 p.m. – Sanctuary Choir and Brass Ensemble
Our Sanctuary Choir will lead us in worship, filling the sanctuary with glorious music to celebrate the Savior's birth.
11:00 p.m. – Holy Communion with Sanctuary Choir and Strings Ensemble
Welcome Christmas Day together with communion, candlelight, and music from our Sanctuary Choir and Strings Ensemble. There's nothing quite like worshiping together on a silent night as we welcome Christmas morning.
Throughout the season of Advent, we prepare our hearts for the arrival of the long-awaited Messiah, reflecting on the promises of hope, peace, joy, and love. And on Christmas Eve, we'll celebrate the greatest promise of all: "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel," which means "God with us."
All are welcome. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors—let's celebrate the birth of Christ together.
