Passage: Luke 24:13-35
One of the most iconic resurrection stories in the gospels happened on the road to the town of Emmaus. The Gospel of Luke says that two disciples were walking together, when all of a sudden, Jesus showed up and began walking with them and engaging them in conversation. The only problem? They had no idea who he was. For whatever reason, they couldn’t recognize the resurrected Jesus. Of course, 2,000 years later, we wholeheartedly believe that the resurrected Jesus is still alive and at work in the world. The question is: Do we recognize him in our midst?
