Thanksgiving Ingathering

Thanksgiving Ingathering is a time for the youth to give joyfully to our neighbors in the Athens community; just as Jesus Christ himself taught us to do. We will assemble and deliver Thanksgiving meals for families on Sunday, November 19. Ingathering is open to all students in grades 7 through 12.

How will the meals be prepared?

We are collecting food items in the youth area to contribute to the Thanksgiving meals. You can sign up here sign up using the link below to commit to bringing in as many food items as you like.

Thanksgiving Ingathering Signup

Nonperishable items need to be dropped off in youth area before Sunday, November 20:

-Boxed mashed potatoes
-Stove Top brand boxed stuffing
-15 ounce cans of green beans
-15 ounce cans of corn
-15 ounce cans of cranberry sauce

Perishable food items to be dropped off in youth area on Sunday morning, November 19, between 9:30 and 10:45 am:

-Frozen apple pies
-Gallons of 2% milk 

Turkeys for the families will be provided by the Youth program.

When will the meals be delivered?

We will begin meal delivery to families at 12:45 p.m. on November 19. The meals will be delivered by teams of student and adult leaders. The teams will carpool to complete the deliveries and return to the church after visiting with families.

Students who would like to participate in the assembling and delivery of meals should email their name and grade to . Adults who would like to volunteer as a driver/leader, please email .

Ingathering Schedule for student and adult participants:
12:00 p.m. Lunch
12:30 p.m. Assemble boxes in the youth room
12:45 p.m. Pray and head out for delivery
2:15 p.m. All carpools are back at the church
