Souper Suppers

Overview

Souper Suppers is a ministry within our church that provides a warm meal to those in need once a week on Thursday evenings January through April.

There were four ways to be involved:

  • Hospitality and Service
  • Kaleidoscope/Children's Corner
  • Make a Meal
  • Store Donations

Hospitality and Service

Sign up to help with greeting, serve communion, give a brief devotion, provide music, work the welcome table (make name tags for workers and guests), be a table host, serve in the Children's Corner, or serve in the store. There are several opportunities for you to serve the community guests and we hope you will join us in serving in this way!

Kaleidoscope: Enrichment/Children Activities

Before the meal each Thursday of Souper Suppers, the gym is open for children to play basketball and do a small craft or coloring activity from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult while in the gym, and at 4:35 will be guided back into the Hancock St. entryway to wait with their parents for their numbers to be called.

Make a Meal

To make a meal, you can sign-up with your Sunday School class, small group, United Methodist Women Circle, or any other small group to prepare and serve a meal.

If interested, you can sign up HERE or contact Sarah Beth to find out available dates and to sign up.

Store Donations

The Souper Suppers store is an opportunity for guests at the Souper Suppers meal to receive necessary personal care and household items.  An exhaustive list of needed items is below. The most needed two items are spam and toilet paper; these can be dropped off in the basket located down the hall from the front receptionist desk or in Mary Claire's office.
