Join us in August as we learn how to have healthy, productive conversations with our children around the often-awkward topics of the human body and reproduction. We look forward to hosting two different speakers over three sessions as they share their insight about navigating these conversational waters with children from preschool through high school.
Birds & Bees | Mary Flo Ridley
Tuesday, August 20, 6:00 p.m. & Wednesday, August 21, 9:30 a.m.
Mary Flo Ridley comes to our church ready to equip parents of preschool and elementary-aged children with tools to approach conversations about birth, conception, and reproduction. Armed with medical research, personal stories, and humor, Mary Flo walks parents through very specific ways to answer their children's early questions with confidence. She gives parents a simple strategy that allows them to share their values along with basic biology and develop a positive plan for introducing the birds and the bees in the preschool and early elementary years. You can learn more about Mary Flo and Birds & Bees on her webpage.
Both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning sessions will cover the same material, and childcare is available at each session. Each session costs $10 and takes place in Hancock Hall. Please register by Friday, August 16.
Talli Talk | Talli Moellering
Sunday, August 25, 5:30 p.m.
“Talli Talk” is a straightforward message about the birds and the bees oriented for parents of tweens and teens, but appropriate for parents of all ages. Talli will provide eye-opening information on the challenges facing today’s teens and equip parents to have conversations with their children. Having experience in this field for 15 years, Talli is an engaging speaker, and parents can expect to walk away equipped and educated to have these very important conversations. You can learn more about Talli and her organization on her webpage.
Talli Talk will take place in Hancock Hall. The session costs $10, and childcare is available. Please register by Friday, August 16.
We hope that all of these sessions will be enriching for parents of children of all ages, and all are invited and welcome to attend both speakers. If you have any questions, please contact Katie Ryan.
