Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting? Or maybe you would like to learn how? If so, this group is for you! We meet on Wednesdays between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. in room 200, and Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. at Panera Bread.
This group gathers together to knit prayer shawls. Completed shawls are prayed over by the group and given to those who are in need of comfort and prayer. We have also committed to providing 400 handmade scarves for the Christmas Community Meal on December 14, 2017. The size needed is 6" wide x 39-45" long. Patterns may vary, but it is best if it is a solid (not lacy) pattern, from washable, worsted-weight yarn.
Simple Knit Pattern: Garter Stitch Needles size 10 or 10.5.
Cast on 21 stitches or number for 6" width. Knit across. Turn. Knit across. Repeat until 39-45".
Simple Crochet Pattern: Hook size K. Loosely chain 17 or number for 6" width. Alternate single crochet and double crochet rows until 39-45" long.
Please pray as you make the scarves and turn in at the church reception desk or join us at one of our meetings! To learn to knit/crochet or for patterns, please contact Dianne or Lynn!
Prayer: May God’s grace be upon this shawl
