Cookie Daniel grew up in Atlanta as one of eight children- seven girls and one boy. She followed her older sister and brother to Athens in 1968 to attend UGA, obtaining a degree in English. She married her husband Russ, a Georgia Tech graduate, in 1972, and they lived and raised their two children in Athens. Cookie enjoys tennis, bridge, reading, boating, and enjoying the company of her six beautiful grandchildren. Cookie joined our church in 1987 and has grown in her faith by participating in many Bible studies, remaining active in the Outreach Sunday School Class, the Altar Guild, UMW Circle 5, and serving on many mission projects. In April 2009, Cookie answered a call to work at our church and now finds herself spending most of her time here, working, serving, worshiping, studying, and participating in rich fellowship. As the receptionist, Cookie is the first face and voice that many people hear and see when they visit or call the church. She has a gift for knowing the answer to almost every question and blesses church members, visitors, and staff alike with her efficiency, organization, and positivity.
