Music and Arts Week

Made for Praise

"Four thousand shall offer praises to the LORD with the instruments made for praise."-1 Chronicles 23:5

Music and Arts Week is a fun-filled three-day camp held June 12-14, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. Children currently in Kindergarten through grade 4 will look at, listen to, and learn all about instruments made for praise!

Look & Listen
Each day of camp will begin by meeting and hearing from local professional musicians who play a variety of instruments.

Learn
Each age group will focus on learning the basics of a particular instrument and will prepare songs to share at the conclusion of camp.

Explore
All kids will explore ukulele, recorder, mallet percussion, and junkyard jam.

Discover
During this S.T.E.A.M. class, kids will have the opportunity to explore the hows and whys of music, instruments, and the great beyond!

Connect
We'll learn together about instruments in local, regional, and world cultures, and about how we can get involved in helping bring music education to other kids in our own community and across the ocean. Activities will also include daily chapel and gym time led by Athens First United Methodist Church staff.
