Children

 Welcome

Our Children’s Ministry  is dedicated to ministering, serving, and loving our children, families, and community. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14) We believe children are important in God’s kingdom and we welcome children in our church.

It is our prayerful goal to nurture each child into a growing relationship with Jesus. We aspire to be in partnership with our parents, and to equip our parents with wisdom to teach their children to grow up as a disciple of Jesus.

We have many opportunities for children to participate in programs and activities that are designed for the children to feel God’s love for them. It is our prayer that each program will help guide and support families as they grow in faith.

Safety

A safe and loving environment is the top priority of our Children’s Ministry at Athens First United Methodist Church. We use an electronic check-in system that provides an important level of security for children in our care. This complements the Safe Sanctuary procedures that we currently follow.

Check-in and check-out is required each time your child attends a Children’s Ministry program (Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening or is in childcare for a special event). Our system is used for all children birth through grade 12.

To Check In Your Child:

Before dropping your child off he/she must be checked in using our KidCheck system and must have a KidCheck sticker on them.

To Check Out Your Child:

Have your KidCheck guardian sticker with you for pick up.

Signing up for KidCheck is easy and free for parents. Once you've created your KidCheck account, you can add your children and other guardians. You can also upload photos of yourself, your kids, and your guardians to make it easy for your childcare provider to identify them.
